Treatment of Abdominoplasty
Complete Abdominoplasty
A large incision is made from one hip bone to the other and the tissues and muscles are contoured as per requirement. The skin is detached from the abdominal wall to expose the muscles that need to be tightened. The belly button may be removed as well but can be reconstructed again.
Partial Abdominoplasty
Partial abdominoplasty is often done when fat deposits are stubborn and confined to a specific area such as below the navel rather than the whole abdomen. A small incision is made and the skin & fat of the lower abdomen are detached. The belly button is most likely retained. The whole procedure is much shorter, taking about a couple of hours.
Combination Abdominoplasty
This involves one or more procedures combined such as liposuction contouring, breast reduction, breast lift, or hysterectomy. It is commonly called the mommy makeover.
