Dr. Shailendra Lalwani is a renowned Gastroenterologist with over 19 years of experience. He is a specialist in Liver Transplantation and Hepatopancreatic biliary Surgery. He has experience of more than 1000 successful Liver Transplant Surgeries and around 10,000 complex hepatobiliary pancreatic and GI surgical procedures (Open, Laparoscopic, and robotic surgery).

He was part of the team who has successfully executed rare Liver Transplant procedures like combined liver and kidney transplant and dual lobe liver transplant (Liver retrieved from 2 liver donors). He is also recognized for performing a living donor liver transplant in the smallest child in India weighing 4.5 kg.

In addition, he has done successful Re-transplant in a child, Living Donor Liver Transplant in an Indian Juvenile childhood cirrhosis, an HIV patient, a Hemiparetic child, Pregnant women with acute liver failure, a donor with Situs InversusTotalis, and an Autistic Child.

Dr. Lalwani has the world’s first successful simultaneous Living Donor Liver Transplant with Open Heart Surgery in a Child to his credit. He has worked on conducting cosmetic donor surgery, Small Incision Donor Hepatectomy (SIDH), and hand-assisted laparoscopic donor hepatectomy (HALDH).
